Like any other forum, FEND has a set of rules that are to be followed. That being said, our rules are more like general guidelines to abide by rather than strict and to-the-limit rules. Try to keep these things in mind. - Do not spam. Any topic created for the purpose of spam will be locked or moved (depending on the situation). Replying to topics, however, is slightly different, since we may go off topic for the sake of having fun on occasion. Posting messages such as "O RLY?" is funny when it would fit and not overused. Other than that, keep the spam in the Loony Bin (our spam board) - Mind your tongue. While you are allowed to curse, harsh profanity is disliked, and will most likely result in your post being edited by a Mod or Admin. Any blatant overuse of "the big two" (the f-word and b-word) will get you warned and your posts will be put under staff preview. - Refrain from racism/other forms of elitism. Racial remarks such as n***er are far more intolerable than swears. We don't care if you aren't offended by such a word, because odds are there's at least one member here that is offended by it. Any and all use of racist remarks will result in an instant suspension and staff preview of all posts for a week upon return. - Don't go out of your way to insult members No flaming other users. Flaming is basically attacking other users via text, and out-and-out rudeness. First offense is a verbal warning, either by post or PM, from the staff, and that will be the only verbal warning received in this case. - NO PORN! Pictures, links, and videos of pornographic material is ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED. Even the discussion of porn, hentai, and the like is not tolerated. Any of such actions will result in an INSTANT AND PERMANENT BAN FROM FEND! All content, whether images, artwork, signatures, ect. should be PG-13 at most. - Check before you post Make sure that you know where you're posting your topic. For example, if you want to talk about your favorite TV series, you post it in the Entertainment forum. If you aren't sure where you should post a topic, you can ask in the Help board. - No sharing of copyrighted files. Do not post links to roms and warez; they're illegal copies of copyrighted material. Do so, and your message will be edited and you will be issued a warning. - Control your posts. While posting and activity is encouraged, don't post for postings sake. This ties in with the spam rule; keep your posts at least in the context of the current discussion. Having a high post count only shows how much you've participated in discussions; nothing else. - Contribute to the discussion when reviving an inactive topic. Necroposting, or the reviving of "dead" topics, is annoying if not used with discretion. If you have something to add to the thread (say, a topic about a video game that was released several weeks after the topic died, and you want to share some info or get the discussion going again), then you're free to post. Try to stay on context. However, certain threads about current events (such as real life news that happened a month ago) should not be revived, as their topic is no longer really relevant to anyone's lives here. This is mostly enforced in the Discussion Floor. - Keep your ego in check. Joking is one thing, but elitism is another. We're not better or worse than anyone else, and we don't care if you are. Just because you're better at a particular video game, for example, it doesn't mean you're better than anyone on the board. While we aren't above poking fun at our members, including troublemakers from the past, don't go out of your way to be rude to another member. You're allowed to have your opinions, but if you need to say something, tone it down. Most forms of this rudeness can be overlooked. - No one is above the law. While we do have a Veteran member group, we don't use that as a way to say "this member is better than you, do what they do". Veterans are members who have contributed to the forum on a large scale, whether with posts, helping new members, suggestions and contributions to the site, any other methods not mentioned, or any combination of the above. They've also been here for a while, but that doesn't guarantee a standing in the veteran spot. Veterans are not above or below any member in terms of rank, and should be treated like you'd treat the staff or any other member. On the other side of the issue, if you are a member of the Veterans group, don't go bragging about it or have a "I'm a Veteran so I'm better than you" attitude; that's elitism, which we want to avoid. At the discretion of the administrators, a member's Veteran status can be removed without prior notice, be it temporarily (whether for a week or you having to earn it again) or permanently (say goodbye to any chances of getting it back). - Post when you register in order to keep your account. Zero-posters. If you registered on FEND but never posted on the boards, you are a Zero-poster. Every so often, all Zero-post accounts are erased to help maintain the site, and you'll have to register again if you want to actually be active. - Absolutely NO advertising in your first 20 posts. 20 posts is the minimum required number of posts to reach member status, and thus, your member group should read "Member" before you make an advertisement topic. This doesn't mean make twenty quick posts then advertise in another, it means wait a little while before advertising. We don't like pop-in users who come, say hi, post a link, and then leave and never return. There is no warn for the first offense, but your link will be removed by a mod or admin. - Mark the spoilers. We're obviously here for gaming, and as a result, there are things that can spoil the game for other members. Please use this code for spoilers;
.
Done properly, it should look like this: Spoiler Topic - Click to Show/Hide And please do this, nobody likes it when a major detail in the game or movie is ruined for them. - Please limit the size of your signature. Not everyone has a high-speed connection, and the last thing that's needed is a page taking forever to load because of one image in someone's signature. If the staff sees something as too big, your signature will be edited. - Invade other boards on your own time. Organizing a board invasion is not allowed on FEND. Do that on your own ground. Any mentioning of invasions can result in suspension, and, if it persists, permanent banning. - No harassment. If you are harassing another member in any way, shape, or form, you will be suspended, and banned if it persists. If you are being harassed, all you have to do is contact a staff member with a forwarded copy of the PM or IM of the harasser as proof, and the situation will be handled. Don't try to falsely accuse anyone, though. We'll know if you're trying to pull a fast one. - Treat your fellow members as you wish to be treated. This rule is enforced the most on FEND, and it's the easiest one to follow. Treat your members nicely and with respect, and we'll do the same. However, if you're being a complete jerk towards any particular member, don't expect the staff to be friendly. Any sort of negative remark, whether rude, snide, insulting, out of spite, or anything about a member themselves, can and will result in warnings, suspensions, and even bannings if you don't follow the staff's suggestions to stop. That's pretty much it at the time. Now get out there and enjoy yourself! ~Dei Enyt, The Blind Archer~ FEND Administrator -------------------- RP Characters - Click to Show/Hide ![]()
